It's never going to calm down, so here's where to start

Nobody wants training anymore

I've been noticing something interesting in the startup world.

43% of companies in Y Combinator's latest batch are building AI agents.

AI agents for insurance. For customer service. For this and that.

If you don't have "AI" somewhere in your business description, you're already behind. Slack just added it. Canva has it. Even Grammarly calls itself an AI editor now.

It's table stakes.

But here's what caught my attention during my recent conversation with Mercer about this shift: Nobody wants training anymore. They want tools.

Think about it. You can spend weeks learning how to analyze a dashboard, or you can have AI do it while you understand how it's thinking. You get the strategy without the grunt work.

This changes everything for service businesses.

Most of us aren't trying to be the next venture-backed startup. But whatever you can do to make yourself more efficient, to create something of value - it's never been easier.

Distribution is infinite. You can get your intellectual capital out there quickly and use it as a marketing channel like never before.

And here's the kicker: If you can use AI bots and agents in any way with your services, you don't have to hire as many people. The agents work for you. It reduces costs and makes your offering more proprietary.

That's where the money trail leads from venture funding.

We're at this weird inflection point where there's tons of beginner AI content and super advanced stuff, but nothing in the middle. Nothing about how service businesses actually use this day-to-day.
