Business Books Are Not To Blame šŸ“š

It’s not you, it’s not me, it’s not the book... it’s THIS

Just in case knowledge

Most people who read business books never take action on them. They get a few chapters in, only to realize that it’s harder to implement than to dream, and just pick up another book to stay in learning mode forever. Because change is hard and there’s a chance of failing, and it takes more than a few chapters of a book to transition from inspiration to identity shift.

The struggle is real, and I’ve been there myself. I stopped reading business books for years while I struggled with the mental gymnastics of how I would incorporate all the insights and techniques into my business. Especially when every book recommended ā€œone thingā€ that you must do to be successful, and they all conflicted with each other.

It’s like when you listen to a fitness guru who says ā€œThe key to long-lasting health is to stare at the sun, shirtless, for 45 minutes when you wake up, then take a cold plunge bath, meditate for 15 minutes, do heavy cardio for 60 minutes, lift weights on all the days that end in ā€˜y’ while in a fasted state of at least 45 hours, don’t eat carbs or fat or protein, and just take these seven steroids supplements and you will feel like a GOD.ā€

Without killing the messenger, I can tell you that most unsolicited advice is garbage. Nobody actually does that stuff.

So what got me out of the business book rut? Systems. As in finally having systems that I can use to apply knowledge from books to make 10% improvements, instead of just throwing ideas on a pile of ā€œjust in caseā€ knowledge.

What is that system? Stay tuned to this space for more details on the system that was the breakthrough for me.

Also, stay tuned for an announcement about my first business book, which is being printed as we speak. I can’t wait to share it with you!
